Yealink - Warm & Cold Transfer

This article will guide you on how you can perform cold and warm transfer on your Yealink desk phone

For Model T43U and T46U

You can use Call Transfer feature to transfer existing calls to another destination. IP phones support the following call transfer behaviours:

  • Blind (Cold) Transfer –Transfer a call to a specific destination without consulting the destination party.

  • Semi-attended Transfer –Transfer a call to a specific destination after hearing the ring back tone.

  • Attended (Warm) Transfer –Transfer a call to a specific destination with prior consultation.

Important Note: You can transfer call using the speed dials saved on your phone but you will have to preconfigure this on your Yealink configuration page.

To perform a blind transfer:

  1. Press the TRANSFER key during a call.

  2. You can do one of the following:

    • Enter the number or select a contact from the placed call list you want to transfer to.

    • Press Directory > Press 2. LDAP > Search for your contact 

  3. Press B Transfer (B Trans) to complete the transfer.

    You can also hang up the handset or press the TRANSFER key when transferring a call by entering number.


 

To perform a semi-attended transfer:

1. Press the TRANSFER key during a call.

2. You can do one of the following:

    • Enter the number you or select a contact from the placed call list want to transfer the

      call to.

    • Press Directory > Press 2. LDAP > Search for your contact 

  1. Press the OK key, # key or Send to dial out.

  2. Press the TRANSFER key or Transfer (Trans) to perform a semi-attended transfer when you

    hear the ring-back tone, or perform an attended transfer after the party answers the call.

    If you are using a handset, the transfer can be completed by hanging up the handset.

You can cancel the transfer before the call is connected by pressing the Cancel soft key.


To perform an attended transfer:

1. Press the TRANSFER key during a call.

2. You can do one of the following:

    • Enter the number you or select a contact from the placed call list want to transfer the

      call to.

    • Press Directory > Press 2. LDAP > Search for your contact 

3. Press Call
4. Once you have spoken to the other person, press Transfer.
