# Setting Up Your Personal Voicemail in Dialpad
## Hi Dialpad users! Did you know you can set up your own personal voicemail greeting to ensure callers always receive a professional message, even when you can't answer? Let's explore!
**Why Your Personal Voicemail Matters**
- Professionalism: It sets a positive tone and provides contact information to callers.
- Convenience: No need to explain your absence every time you miss a call.
- Customisation: Create a greeting that reflects your personality and professionalism.
**Set a voicemail greeting**
Your voicemail greeting can be set from the web portal, or from your Mobile/SIP app.
To hear your current recorded greeting, head to Your Settings from [Dialpad.com](http://Dialpad.com)
1\. Navigate to **Call Handling and Voicemail**
2\. Click the blue play button beside the greeting type

To manage your voicemail from Dialpad.com, head to Your Settings.
1\. Navigate to **Call Handling & Voicemail**
2\. Select Record a Greeting to record directly from your device OR select Upload to choose an existing MP3 file
If you prefer to keep it simple, Dialpad also offers a default voicemail greeting. To use our greeting, simply keep the "Default Greeting", no changes are required.
If you're recording a custom voicemail greeting, it must be 45 seconds or shorter in length.
You can always rename or delete a voicemail greeting after listening to it. If you're uploading an MP3 file, it cannot be any larger than 10MB in size.
**Personalisation Tips**
- State your name and title.
- Briefly explain your unavailability.
- Offer alternative contact options, like email or another extension.
- Keep it professional yet friendly.
- Consider different greetings for different scenarios (personal vs. work).
**Additional Features**
Transcription: Enable AI transcription to read voicemail messages as text.
Notifications: Get notified when you receive a new voicemail.
By setting up a personalised voicemail, you ensure callers receive a professional message and have a clear way to reach you. Remember, your voicemail is an extension of your professional image, so make it count!
